Hutchison Ports Pakistan achieves operational milestone of over 3 million TEUs handled

Hutchison Ports Pakistan is proud to have achieved yet another milestone of handling over 3 million teus cumulatively in 04 years since commencement of commercial operation. Hutchison Ports Pakistan is playing an important role in contributing to the nation’s economy.

General Manager and Head of Hutchison Ports Pakistan, Captain Syed Rashid Jamil said in a statement, “Hutchison Ports Pakistan is pleased to have achieved this milestone and started the new year at such an exciting pace. The port has always played an important role since the beginning and will continue to further escalate Karachi’s potential by speeding up its transformation into a prime South Asian hub for trade and transport activities.”


Hutchison Ports Pakistan is situated at the estuary of the Keamari Groyne basin, providing the most convenient access to ships entering Karachi. The new facility is the closest Pakistan port to the shipping lanes in the Arabian Sea. Its prime location offers the shortest steaming time from the Fairway Buoy, and will bring real benefits to customers, relating to time, cost, reduction in risk of delays, and reduced carbon emissions.
